For example, “Food is any substance consumed to provide nutritional support for an organism.” Survival or nutrition - both indicate the significance of food for good health. Yes, food as most of us would agree is meant to keep us in optimal health. Isn’t this the only reason we eat food? In this module we will understand the basics about food - it’s role, its effect on our body, and nature’s design of food for human beings.
